Job Description A Japanese company in the Smyrna, GA area is looking for a Container Design and Bottle Inspection Engineer Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Salary: $52K–$58K (DOE)

Summary This position is primarily responsible for conducting detailed inspections on bottles and preparing accurate and detailed drawings from rough sketches, notes, or by reverse-engineering sample containers.
Qualifications - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Product Design, or related field)
- 1–2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with PTC Creo/ProEngineer preferred; other 3D CAD software acceptable.
- Strong 2D and 3D geometric reasoning; ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to conduct both destructive and non-destructive tests on sample containers (compression, vacuum, impact, dimensional, and capacity measurements).
- Experience preparing inspection reports and analyzing data (e.g., Cpk levels).
- Familiarity with 3D scanning and 3D printing for design evaluation and mockup creation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and checking drawings.
- Must work effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Mold Design, and factories in Japan and India.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Responsibilities - Conduct bottle inspections including compression, vacuum, drop impact, dimensional, and wall thickness testing.
- Create detailed 3D virtual models using surface and solid modeling techniques in PTC Creo and SolidWorks.
- Develop and modify 2D drawings for customer approval and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation (proposal sheets, revision histories, feasibility studies).
- Evaluate designs for feasibility, cavitation, and cycle time.
- Manage project data, including drawing files, inspection reports, and database entries.
- Operate and maintain 3D printers and prepare mockup models for customer evaluation.
- Handle sample bottle storage, cataloging, and shipment.
- Input data into CRM systems and spreadsheets.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
