Job Title: Manual Lathe Machinist
Job Description

Join our team as a Manual Lathe Machinist where you will take on the challenge of running up to 30 different parts in a day. This role primarily involves overseeing the manual operations of a lathe while ensuring quality and precision in machining large industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee manual lathe operations, ensuring tight tolerances and quality inspections.
• Perform drilling, cutting, tapping, and threading tasks.
• Utilize blueprints to guide machining processes.
• Operate and program CNC machining equipment to create or repair various components.
• Work with overhead cranes, hoists, mills, and other machining tools.
• Adhere to all safety rules and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by departmental supervisors.

Essential Skills

• Experience with manual lathe operations.
• Proficiency in reading and using blueprints.
• Ability to operate CNC machinery.
• Knowledge of machining principles including grinding and milling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with crane and hoist operations.
• Familiarity with tight tolerances and quality measurement devices such as micrometers and gauges.
• TIG welding experience is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate-controlled, well-kept shop that specializes in mining equipment, which may involve exposure to dirt. The first shift offers flexibility in choosing your hours, while the second shift runs from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with a $0.75 shift differential. Overtime is voluntary initially and then mandated, paid at 1.5 times the rate over 8 hours and on Saturdays, and double on Sundays.

The pay range for this position is $45240.00 - $55827.20/yr.
