NATURE OF WORK: Perform general and routine maintenance and repair services for various types of vehicles and related equipment which utilize gasoline, CNG, and diesel fuels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Inspects and performs services on belts, hoses, tires and various other vehicle and/orequipment parts subject to wear and tear to determine necessary repairs; inspects,operates, and tests vehicles and equipment to diagnose minor mechanical issues.
•Conducts regular general inspections of vehicles and equipment; performs minor weldingrepairs and general maintenance; performs lube, oil, and filter changes and checks andmaintains necessary fluids in accordance with established standards and to ensure appropriate maintenance is completed.
•Operates various power and hand tools and machinery necessary to test and diagnoseissues and maintain and clean a variety of vehicles, machinery, equipment, tools, andfacilities.
•Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas clean and in safe condition at all times tocomply with established policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
•Provides assistance and support to mechanics, other staff, vendors, and customers asneeded; tracks and records mileage of all vehicles including buses and vans.
•Responds to service calls, transports vehicles to and from various facilities and locations,and maintains accurate records.
•Drives and moves vehicles as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience in automotive and /or heavy equipment repair and/or servicing. A combination of education, experience, and training may be applied in accordance with CLC Employee Handbook section 206.5-A-E policy.
Licenses/Certification(s): A Valid NM Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and Air Brake endorsement is required. Position requires an acceptable driving record in accordance with South Central Solid Waste Authority policies

Knowledge of: Standard tools, materials, methods, practices, hazards and safety procedures used in preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment, tire repair, and other minor mechanical work; occupational and environmental safety and health hazards, and safety practices and procedures; applicable preventive maintenance schedules and procedures; practices, techniques, activities, rules, and regulations related to the operations and functions of the position and services provided; current principles of record keeping and records management; principles and practices of effective research methods and data analysis, customer service, and problem resolution techniques; occupational and

environmental safety and health hazards, and safety practices; safe and effective use and maintenance of related tools, materials and equipment; current methods and standards for preparing effective business correspondence; correct English usage, grammar, composition, spelling , punctuation and vocabulary; business and personal computers and related software applications; SCSWA organization, operations, policies and procedures to effectively perform the required functions and duties of the position.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL FACTORS
Work is performed 80% in a warehouse or workshop environment with exposure to vehicles fumes, dirt, grease, and vehicle fluids.
Physical Factors
Heavy physical demands. Frequent use of cleaning and mechanical equipment. Heavy physical work involving lifting and carrying items weighing up to 100 pounds.
WORK SITUATION FACTORS: Position involves competing demands, performing multiple tasks, working to deadlines, occasional work beyond normal business hours, and responding to customer issues. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity of services. Position is subject to drug testing in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and South-Central Solid Waste Authority Policies.
