Environmental Technician

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Position Overview:
The contractor will be responsible for managing, receiving, organizing, tracking, and logging non-hazardous waste, hazardous waste, universal waste, and recyclable materials. This role requires a balance of 80% physical labor and 20% desk work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and organize various types of waste and recycling materials.
• Maintain accurate records and logs for all waste and recyclable materials.
• Operate forklifts and other trade tools as needed.
• Ensure compliance with waste management protocols and procedures.
• Work cooperatively with team members and employees, taking direction from the immediate supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Experience operating a forklift and other trade tools.

Key Interactions:
The contractor will collaborate closely with team members and employees while following the guidance and instructions of their immediate supervisor.

Immediate Goals:

• Maintain organized operations for non-hazardous waste, hazardous waste, universal waste, and recyclable materials.

Key Details:

• Interview Process: In-person interviews required.
• PPE Requirements: Workers must have steel-toe safety boots that are leather and at least 6 inches high at the ankle. Additional PPE will be provided by the site.
• Special Requirements: A photo ID is required for check-in with site security and to receive a badge.

Onboarding Requirements

• Background Check needed
• Drug Screen needed
• Hazwoper Training - This role will require 8hr training to be scheduled by the vendor and completed after the worker starts. No physical necessary.
